Sepsis is an inflammatory response triggered by infection, with a risk of in-hospital mortality. Early recognition and intervention can reverse the inflammatory response and improve clinical outcomes.
Whilst the clinical outcomes of patients with sepsis at the Imperial College Trust are within the national average, the condition can be fatal and therefore is a high priority for continued improvement.
