Increasing theatre productivity using Flow Coaching
FCA Clinical Lead (Tom Downes) shares his experience in expert line-up at online event.
On 12 February national experts joined the Department of Anaesthesia at Hull University Teaching Hospitals and the Association of Anaesthetists to deliver a programme of dedicated talks at its online Core Topics Hull event.
Designed for Anaesthetists, the event focused on a wide range of relevant topics from increasing theatre productivity, perioperative care, planning for the future, the role of virtual reality in healthcare, complication after major surgery, consent for organ donation and the 2021 curriculum for anaesthesia.
Tom, gave an informative talk about how Flow Coaching Academy (FCA) is increasing theatre productivity across the UK and helped explain the core concepts of FCA methodology and the FCA Big Room.
As part of this, Tom described why the FCA approach is more important now than ever and can help organisations recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic by overcoming problems, empowering staff and putting them at the core of redesigning systems and achieving sustainable improvement.
Commenting on the event, he said: “The Association of Anaesthetics are renowned for bringing anaesthetists from across the country together to have important discussions about how we can all work together as an integrated healthcare sector. It was a privilege to be invited to speak as part of the event and it’s fantastic that we can remain connected despite the current context and the constraints which are on us due to Coronavirus.”
